Julia Nanay

Principal, Energy Ventures LLC

Julia Nanay is a Principal at Energy Ventures LLC in Washington, DC, where she provides clients with business intelligence and risk advisory services related to the oil and gas industry. Previously, she was a Managing Director at PFC Energy (now part of IHS Energy), where she worked extensively on advising clients on many facets of the industry.  Ms. Nanay has specialized on the energy sectors of Russia and the Caspian countries, developing an extensive network of contacts in this region. She has spoken at a wide array of conferences, testified before the US Senate, and appeared on various news programs to discuss oil and gas related issues. She has published numerous articles, and co-authored both the Russia and Eurasia chapter of the Woodrow Wilson Center’s book "Energy & Security, Strategies for a World in Transition" and for the Journal of Transatlantic Studies “Special issue: Transatlantic Energy Security.” Ms. Nanay also wrote the chapter on Russia’s Role in the Eurasian Market in the book, “Russian Energy Power and Foreign Relations.”

She received a B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles and an M.A.L.D. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
